Join the Tri-State AV Team
Low Voltage / AV Installation Technician
Tri-State AV & Information Technologies is growing, and we’re looking for the right person to grow with us.
We design, install, service, and support professional technology systems throughout the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and surrounding Tri-State area. Our projects range from commercial AV and structured cabling to surveillance, networking, access control, digital signage, and large-format LED video walls.
This is not a desk job and it isn't a position where every day looks the same.
One day you may be installing cameras and pulling Cat6 cable. The next you could be hanging displays, installing speakers, terminating a network rack, working on an access-control system, or helping install a large LED video wall.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, learning technology, and taking pride in leaving behind clean, professional work.
What You'll Be Doing
Typical responsibilities include:
Pulling, routing, labeling, and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling
Installing and terminating network equipment
Installing surveillance cameras and NVR systems
Mounting TVs, displays, projectors, speakers, and other AV equipment
Installing access-control devices, card readers, electric strikes, and related equipment
Assisting with commercial audio systems
Installing racks, patch panels, cable management, and equipment
Assisting with LED video wall installations
Troubleshooting cabling, network, AV, surveillance, and control-system issues
Working from ladders and lifts when required
Keeping job sites, company vehicles, tools, and work areas organized
Communicating professionally with customers and other trades on site
Who We're Looking For
Previous low-voltage, AV, networking, security, electrical, or similar trade experience is strongly preferred, but we're willing to consider someone with strong mechanical ability and the right attitude who is eager to learn.
The right person:
Shows up on time and can be counted on
Takes pride in clean, professional workmanship
Is comfortable using hand and power tools
Can work independently once trained
Can troubleshoot instead of immediately giving up when something doesn't work
Pays attention to details
Is comfortable working on ladders and lifts
Can safely lift and move equipment
Is comfortable working in ceilings, mechanical spaces, and active construction environments
Communicates professionally with customers
Can take direction without needing constant supervision
Wants to learn new technology and develop valuable technical skills
Experience We'd Love to See
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Structured cabling
Cat5e/Cat6 termination
Network racks and patch panels
UniFi networking or surveillance equipment
Commercial surveillance systems
Access control
Commercial AV
Audio systems
TV and display installation
Fiber
LED video walls
Construction or electrical work
Troubleshooting with a multimeter or cable tester
You don't need to know everything on this list.
We're much more interested in someone who has a solid technical foundation, learns quickly, works hard, and cares about doing things correctly.
What We Expect
We're a growing company, which means everyone has to pull their weight.
Reliability matters.
Quality matters.
How you represent the company in front of our customers matters.
We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the company, not someone simply looking for somewhere to clock in.
There will occasionally be early mornings, long installation days, travel to job sites throughout the region, and projects that require flexibility to get the job finished.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to work on technology and projects that are considerably more interesting than doing the exact same installation every day.
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and demonstrated ability.
We'd rather pay more for someone who can produce high-quality work, solve problems, and operate independently than hire solely based on the lowest hourly rate.
Specific compensation will be discussed during the interview process based on experience.
Benefits & Perks
Paid time off
Paid holidays
Company-provided tools and equipment as applicable
Training on new systems and technologies
Opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation as the company grows
Variety of commercial projects and technologies
Opportunity to develop skills across AV, networking, surveillance, access control, and LED display systems
Please note: Tri-State AV does not currently offer employer-sponsored health insurance.
Requirements
Applicants must:
Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Be able to safely perform physical installation work
Be comfortable working from ladders and lifts
Be willing to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky / Tri-State region
Be able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
Be legally authorized to work in the United States
Think You'd Be a Good Fit?
Fill out the application below.
We intentionally ask a few more questions than a typical job application. We're a small, growing company, and finding the right person matters to us.
You don't need the perfect résumé.
We'd rather hear what you actually know how to do, what you've worked on, and why you think you'd be a strong addition to the team.
